Dehancer review
Project Overview: Dehancer invited me to review their film emulation plugin inside DaVinci Resolve. In this video, I tested its full potential—applying halation, film grain, and tonal compression—to show how it can transform digital footage into rich, cinematic visuals. Concept Development:
The idea was to create an in-depth, hands-on review of the Dehancer plugin inside DaVinci Resolve, showcasing its strengths in color grading and film emulation for professionals and enthusiasts.
Pre-Production:
Outlined key features to test: halation, grain, film compression, and color head. Prepared my own footage to demonstrate real-world use cases and created a node-based workflow plan.
Production:
Recorded screen captures, live grading sessions, and commentary, walking through each step from base correction to final cinematic look using Dehancer tools.
Post-Production:
Edited the video to balance technical depth with viewer engagement. Applied my own grading to the review visuals and integrated on-screen breakdowns of node structures and results.
Distribution:
Published on my YouTube channel Film Mints Colorist, with chapters and timestamps for user navigation. Shared across social media and through Dehancer’s platform with a custom discount code.
